Based on the 2009 edition of the International Building Code as published by the International Code Council, these Regulations require astute interpretation and compliance management, especially in the preparation and submission of appropriate documentation as well as coordination of field and site inspections, compliance monitoring and support services in the application for and granting of Certificates of Occupation.

Recent promulgation of the National Conservation Law informs the integration of substantial overlay legislation involving assessment of environmental impacts arising from development and infrastructural projects and directly affecting the permitting and granting of planning consents and other usage licences.
